ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – St. Louis Music was thrilled to take part in Make Music Day 2017, a celebration of music which took place on the summer solstice in thousands of locations around the world. This year a group of SLM employees (known as the St. Louis Music All-Stars) performed in the UCity Loop at the Chuck Berry statue, honoring the “father of rock n roll” by playing a selection of his tunes and raising awareness for Make Music Day.
Make Music Day was started in France in 1982, and was first conceived as a national holiday to celebrate music on the summer solstice. Over 30 years later the fête has become a true national holiday in France, and one that has spread to over 120 countries throughout the world. (In the U.S., Make Music Day is presented by the NAMM Foundation).
