PMXT-66RCL Tenor Sax
St. Louis Music has released the Cognac Lacquer alto and tenor from P. Mauriat. “These have gorgeous finishes, and offer a fantastic sound,” says Craig Denny P. Mauriat brand director. The lacquer itself would seem to only be a cosmetic difference, but in reality, each lacquer combination – or lack of it – makes a saxophone respond in a different way. “The result is a body design/lacquer that sounds unlike anything else on the market today. This alto and tenor are free-blowing but have enough resistance to remind many of the vintage horns of the 1950’s.”

Each body tube is hand-hammered out of French brass and each tone hole is drawn and rolled one at a time to ensure consistency. In addition, the keywork responds quickly and accurately due to its blued-steel springs. All P. Mauriat saxophones are padded with Pisoni professional pads containing metal resonators.
The PMXA-67RCL and PMXT-66RCL also come in honey gold, vintage dark, and un-lacquered as well as silver- and gold-plated.
