Not content that it was already a best seller in its class, Alvarez took the Regent Series acoustic guitars back to the shop and made them even better.
“It’s important to us that entry-level guitars are still great guitars, so players at all levels can enjoy a quality instrument,” says Chris Meikle, SLM Senior VP and Alvarez Brand Director. “We were able to put new features including a scalloped bracing system for improved tone, a high gloss finish, and other improvements typically found in guitars that cost a lot more than the $200 the RD26 is currently at. Also the gig bag it comes with is no afterthought – the quality and sturdiness is superb, it’s a real pro bag.”
The RD26 Dreadnought features a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and Alvarez’s Bi-Level rosewood bridge. The fingerboard is rosewood and it has a dovetailneck joint and die cast chrome tuners. There’s also an A/E version in the Alvarez RD 26 CESB A, which MAPs at around $250.
“These entry-level guitars offer a more responsive, richer sound, and the enhanced tone and resonance you get from playing them are rarely found in laminated guitars,” Meikle adds. “These are going to be especially popular for the holidays.”
