ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – P. Mauriat never misses a chance to improve upon excellence, and that’s what the Influence model saxophones are all about. Differences to a Standard P. Mauriat saxophone are subtle, but every adjustment to an Influence model’s structure and aesthetic is meant to effect tone and resonance.
Influence model Altos and Tenors use patented nickel silver key touches in place of traditional finger buttons. The touches are soldered to the key arm instead of employing glue, as traditional finger buttons do. This small variation allows for an increased resonance throughout the horn.
“On paper, the slight design alterations between Influence altos and tenors and our standard models should barely make a difference,” says Craig Denny, Vice President – Band at St. Louis Music. “The reality is, those changes create an entirely new experience. Influence altos and tenors have a unique feel in the hand. They’re big and bold and possess a lot of fun factor.”
Several P. Mauriat artists use Influence altos and tenors including James Carter, Marcus Strickland, Adam Larson and Scott Paddock. The Influence models PMXA-67RX and PMXT-66RX are offered in two finishes, Dark “Vintage” Finish and Raw Brass. The 67RX alto has an MSRP beginning at $4549.00 and the 66RX tenor has an MSRP beginning at $5799.00.
The Influence models offer a tremendous value in addition to their unique key touches and true rolled tone holes. For players and retailers looking for an alto or a tenor to stand out amongst all others, Influence models are a perfect choice.
