ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – Dixon artist Gregg Bissonette has donated one of his Signature Snares to an auction benefiting legendary guitarist Tony MacAlpine. The snare will be auctioned on Ebay beginning December 12th.
Tony MacApline was forced to bow out of a tour in August due to health issues and the rock and roll and metal communities are rallying to help him. On December 12th a benefit concert at the Wiltern in Los Angeles will be held, featuring performances by Steve Vai, Steve Lukather, Zakk Wylde and many others.
Gregg has signed the drumhead on his donated 6.5×14” snare, which is made of flat steel with a black nickel finish, and an adjustable butt plate so the snare wires can be adjusted with either hand.
In addition to Bissonette’s Ebay contribution, fans will also be able to bid on instruments from Vai, Joe Bonamassa, Joe Satriani and many more. A GoFundMe page will be created to help fans contribute beyond the concert.
Details on how to bid on Gregg Bissonette’s snare will be available on his facebook page starting December 12th. For concert information please visit Wiltern’s site
