ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI – St. Louis Music is thrilled to be participating in Make Music Day 2017, a celebration of music on the summer solstice that will take place in thousands of locations around the world. Dealers and friends of SLM are encouraged to visit www.makemusicday.org/media/ to learn how to get involved.
“The Make Music Day worldwide festival is such a wonderful event,” says Mark Ragin, President and CEO of St. Louis Music. “Any initiative to bring music to every street corner and venue in hundreds of cities across the world, we’re thrilled to support and help spread the word.”
Make Music Day was started in France in 1982, and was first conceived as a national holiday to celebrate music on the summer solstice. Over 30 years later the fête has become a true national holiday in France, and one that has spread to over 120 countries throughout the world. (In the U.S., Make Music Day is presented by the NAMM Foundation).
SLM encourages its dealers to visit www.makemusicday.org/media/ where they can view a toolkit explaining how to create their own Make Music Day event, which can include anything from hosting a drum circle or guitar strum to instrument-making events for small children or a battle of the bands event.
