Blessing’s Olympic Legacy: B-175 Artist Herald Trumpets at the 1984 Games

August 2nd 2024

As the world is excitedly watching the 2024 Paris Games, Blessing is remembering its own time in the Olympic spotlight. You may not know this story, but you’ve certainly heard its melody! The 2024 Paris Olympics mark the 40th Anniversary of the 1984 Los Angeles games, which introduced John Williams’ iconic “Olympic Fanfare” theme. Williams composed the theme with the harmonic overtones of herald trumpets specifically in mind, as they would be used to perform the new music at all official Olympic events.

100 Blessing B-175 Artist Herald Trumpets were specially commissioned for the showstopping opening ceremony in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The trumpets were personalized for the historic occasion, including banners and engravings of the Olympic rings. Blessing remains infinitely proud of its contribution to Olympic history. If you’d like to see the legendary horns in action, watch here!
