Dixon announces that it has completed a high-end makeover with new hardware design and colors for its Artisan drum line. And what a beauty it is
“Dixon understands that drummers reach a point when it all comes together and refined skills give way to optimum results,” says Dixon product manager Jim Uding. “Creating a flagship drum line is similar, and we feel we have achieved a high-quality pro kit with Artisan. This series delivers the best our craftsman has to offer, and players love that they can personalize the instrument in a manner that allows them to find his or her signature sound.”
The Artisan series drum shells are crafted from hand selected, Grade A hardwoods. Each ply is cut to exact specifications and laminated using a special, exclusive high pressure molding process. “The Dixon master drum makers have spent years refining the traditional shell-making method to ensure each one delivers optimum tuning range and tone,” Uding adds.
Artisan offers three shell types: North American Maple (Artisan TMS); North American Maple and Bubinga Hybrid (Artisan MBS); and an exotic hardwood option (Artisan Select). The drums feature an A-Frame hardware styling for a new smooth, bold look. They come in a wide variety of finishes including Division Retro Yellow, Division Snow White, Division Sea Blue, and Division Piano Black. Other features include 45-degree baring edges, die cast hoops, Artisan v-mount suspension, and Evans batter and resonant heads. The four-piece Artisan Shell Packs MSRP at $2,998.00
